Apply for a market trading license

A license is required to operate a market stall in one of the downtown markets.

Market place

The market is open for trading from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Traders can request to trade on the same day or the same days each week, and will be assigned a specific slot each day they are allowed.

The pitches measure 8×6 feet. All locations have a metal framing, canvas roof, and two 16A outlets – traders should bring the boards, tables, cables and IP55 waterproof case and any other items you wish to use.

There is no parking at the market. Vehicles can unload between 6.30 am and 9.30 am and between 4 pm and 6 pm. Vehicles cannot be in the market place outside of these hours.

Locations outside the market and at the ends of the rows are billed at the premium rate. All other locations are billed at the standard rate.

All traders are billed one month in arrears. We encourage the use of direct debit payment.
