Deutsche Börse to deploy digital aftermarket platform

Global market infrastructure provider Deutsche Börse plans to launch a fully digital, regulatory-compliant post-trade platform called D7, anchored in the recently introduced German digital securities legislative framework.

The new cloud-based, DLT-enabled D7 platform will enable market players to digitize their financial products with continuous access to existing central and distributed infrastructures and markets.

The D7 platform paves the way for same-day issuance and end-to-end paperless automated processing for the entire issuance, custody, settlement, payment and asset management value chain. assets for digital titles.

By mid-2022, more than 80% of German securities will be digitizable via D7, promoting the digitization of German and European financial markets.

To achieve this, Deutsche Börse has partnered with several leading global and German financial institutions to create market-ready digital infrastructure, including BNP Paribas, Citi, DekaBank, Deutsche Bank, dwpbank, DZ Bank, Goldman Sachs, Raiffeisen Bank International and Vontobel.

The D7 platform is developed in collaboration with long-term strategic technology partners Digital Asset and Microsoft, as well as R3 and VMware.

The full functionality of the D7 platform will be rolled out in phases over the next few years.
