US stock futures are pointing to a lower open at 5:00 a.m. ET. European equity markets fell overall, following mostly firmer Asian markets. Ukraine and Russia are in the headlines as the fallout from financial and economic sanctions on Russia continues amid fears inflation could worsen. Asia has seen a steady albeit unspectacular rally with many exchanges opening in the red only to turn around on optimism that Russia-Ukraine talks are expected to resume, as well as some stronger than expected PMI data sets.
